Wordsmith

WordsmithWord is very accomplished in his personal & professional life with a B.A. in Theatre & an independent label, NU Revolution Entertainment LLC, under his belt. As a universal artist, Word used his acting background to display his “Hip-Hop Plays” in venues like Sonar & SoB’s, while marketing deals with Joint One LLC. in Japan have afforded him the opportunity to score music for Sega’s “Madworld” & license music to Puma Fragrances. Quite the business man, Word books DJ’s for Hip-Hop Weekly Magazine, releases mixtapes on HipHopdx.com & teamed up with Chubb Rock for an album called “Bridging the Gap”.


Kontact

KontactHe obtained a Bachelor degree in Business Administration (emphasis on management decision support systems) and a minor in Computer Technology from Ferrum College in 2003.

On the artist tip Kontact has lent not only rapping vocals, but singing vocals to Chubb Rock & Wordsmith’s “Bridging the Gap” album and all of Wordsmith’s HipHopdx sponsored mixtapes since 2008. Kontact also did some Radio jingles with Wordsmith when he was doing intros for 0C 104′s 7-12am shift. In 2010, he will be appearing on Wordsmith’s debut album “Vintage Experience”.


Black Knight

Black KnightAs an artist, Black Knight has appeared on all of Wordsmith’s HipHopgame.com & HipHopdx.com sponsored mixtapes since 2006. Black Knight also did some Radio jingles with Wordsmith when he was doing intros for 0C 104′s 7-12am shift. As a Radio personality, Black Knight hosts Nu Revolution Entertainments in house radio station “Revolt Radio” every Wednesday from 8 to 9pm. He has interviewed old school artists like Guru of Gangstarr and new school artists like Soulstice during the stations first year of existence. In 2010, Black Knight will be appearing on Wordsmith’s debut album “Vintage Experience”.


Whitefolkz

WhitefolkzThis quote is the best way to describe the sound of Whitefolkz, an original artist with an explosive sound coming from Washington, D.C., the nations capital. No one is 100% sure where Whitefolkz was born or where he is from, but his mother claims to hold a copy of a birth certificate that says he was born in Alexandria, VA. When asked where he is from Whitefolkz responds by saying, Topp Dogg Hill…the group of artists he works with and considers family.

Whitefolkz has been producing and rapping since the age of 15 and has been playing guitar and piano even longer. In interviews, he cites his major influences as Andre 3000, Prince, Marilyn Manson, Jimi Hendrix, UGK, and Curtis Mayfield.
